Sabrina Carpenter has good judgement, and she knows she has good taste.
So please, please, please—stop trying to stir things up between her and Taylor Swift. After all, there was never any drama when Sabrina participated in a SKIMS campaign for Kim Kardashian, someone with whom Taylor does have longstanding bad blood).
"In that scenario, I've been very, very communicative with her about that situation," Sabrina told Rolling Stone in an interview published June 17. "And I just love her so much and support her till the end. So it was no weirdness for me, but I know people will just say things because that's all they have time to do."
And for anyone who did imply that the ad caused any sort of issue for Taylor and Sabrina, who opened for much of the "Anti-Hero" singer's 2023 Eras Tour, please, don't even think about embarrassing the "Please Please Please" singer.
"As much as people want to believe you're tuned into every little thing," she explained, "I'm not, because I'm constantly working."
Because despite the naysayers in the comment section of the 25-year-old's April 1 post announcing her involvement in SKIMS's spring campaign, Sabrina insists of her relationship with Taylor, "We're very, very verbal with each other about our mutual love and admiration."
In fact, not only has Sabrina also worked with Taylor's longtime musical partner Jack Antonoff, but she and Taylor are so close that Girl Meets World alum was among the first to listen to certain tracks from Taylor's most recent studio album The Tortured Poets Department.
"She always puts out music at a time where I didn't realize I needed those songs," Sabrina gushed. "She played me ‘But Daddy I Love Him' before it came out, and that's also one of my favorites."
And while Sabrina's recent chart-topping hits "Espresso" and "Please Please Please" are helping her carve out her own name in the music industry, she will not be the first to compare herself to Taylor's stardom.
"I hold her to such a different echelon," she noted. "I could never compare my life, my career, my trajectory to anything close to what she's done."
This is not to say, though, that she isn't enjoying the attention and love her music is getting.
"My mom has been like, ‘Do you feel crazy right now?'" Sabrina said. "I just love that people get my sense of humor."
After all, with over 10 years in the public eye under her belt, her big moment has been a longtime coming. "I feel really grateful that this has happened over the course of a lot of time of me figuring it out because it doesn't feel like it was sprung up on me," she reflected. "It's almost like I can just relax and be excited about it."
